This Intensive aims to inspire dancers to not only improve their craft, but also to discover their unique voice within the art of dance.
DADC/DAPT Summer Dance Intensive is a dynamic and immersive dance program open to dancers of all levels who wish to do one or all of the following:
- Elevate their technique, movement, skills and passion
- Explore new styles of dance
- Deepen their artistic expression and creativity through intensive training
- Focus on personal growth
- Engage in a rigorous curriculum that challenges participants
- Learn what competitive dance is all about
- Audition for DADC/DAPT
OBJECTIVES:
- Enhance technical skills and precision in dance movements
- Foster creativity through workshops and improvisational exercises
- Provide a platform for creating and showcasing original choreography
- Build a supportive community of like-minded individuals passionate about dance
WHAT TO EXPECT
Audition for DADC/DAPT for those participants wanting to join our competitive team. Dancers are evaluated throughout the Intensive and then placed in levels by our Choreographers and Director.
- Masterclasses led by renowned choreographers and professional dancers
- Collaborative projects where participants create and rehearse original works
- Learn specific choreography in multiple styles of dance
- Participate in workshops to learn about the dance industry
- Learn about requirements of competitive dance

MJ
MJ, originally from Charlotte, NC, is an alumni of the EDGE scholarship program and has her BFA in dance with a concentration in Choreography and Performance. Professionally, she has performed for Sonya Teyeh Dance, Peter Chu, Beyonce on Billboard Awards, Edge’s annual show, Tessandra Chavez’s “Unity” shows, Dancing Under the Stars Festival, and the REVERB Festival. She has danced in such shows as “Battles” and “The Endurance to Move”and her newest work will perform in Edinburgh, Scotland in August. The work MJ is doing with her students to help provide a path for them to thrive as they have moved on to Julliard, Arts Umbrella, and Jacob’s Pillow means more than her personal accomplishments. MJ is looking forward to sharing the magic with those who are passionate and eager about the work they will do in this art form.

Ashley Borromeo
Ashley Borromeo began her dance career near Tampa, Florida where she became the co-founder and owner of Dance, Etc. from 2001-2009. She danced professionally with Dublin Worldwide Productions and in New York City in several off Broadway shows. Her formative training started in 1990 with Debbie Cole and spanned from Houston, Chicago, Los Angeles and then to an internship at Broadway Dance Center in NYC. In 2010, she founded ACT Daance Productions and hosted 5 conventions throughout Florida. In 2015, she became certified with Rhythm Kinections to share her love of dance with those with learning differences. Today, Ashley is a movement and mindset coach, an entrepreneur and force behind TapFitFam, and mentor dedicated to helping young dancers unlock confidence, joy and alignment through dance. Through her signature masterclasses, Ashley guides dancers to break free from self-doubt, step into their power, and dance with life with purpose.

Eileen Juric
Eileen Juric draws from a multi-layered history in the dance world. She began her career training on full scholarships at the Joffrey Ballet School and the School of American Ballet, afterwards dancing professionally as a soloist with the Chicago Lyric Opera Ballet.
After her performing career, Eileen shifted to teaching children and later opened her own studio in New Jersey. Recognizing first-hand how traditional approaches fell short in a mainstream setting, she came to understand the need for a fresh approach to technique. Eileen began developing an innovative technique program called “BalletBarreNone”, and she produced the acclaimed 3-DVD series The Children’s Hour of Power for ages 3-9, which has appeared in numerous dance publications and has sold in over 23 countries.
Since that time, Eileen has taught locally and traveled internationally as a faculty member for such conferences as the Dance Teacher Summit, the DanceLife Teacher Conference, Dance Masters of America, and the Florence Summer Dance Intensive in Italy.

Mikayla Moore
Mikayla is a versatile dancer trained in ballet, hip-hop, contemporary, acro, jazz, jazz-funk, silks, and heels. Beginning their journey at the age of 8, Mikayla has cultivated a strong foundation in all genres of dance, with the majority of their training at Dance Ascension in Garner, North Carolina, under the guidance of Ashley O’Quinn.
Her career highlights include performing in New York and Los Angeles with Liberate Artists, featuring in an industry showcase in LA, and appearing in numerous concept videos, as well as a music video with American Idol star Delaney Renee Wilson. Mikayla has also had the privilege of working as an assistant to renowned artists such as Phil Wright, Lauren Froderman, and Eva Igo.
Most recently, Mikayla was signed by the prestigious talent agency MTA, marking an exciting new chapter in their professional career. Known for their dedication, artistry, and passion, Mikayla continues to inspire and be inspired through dance, aiming to leave a lasting impact in every performance and project they undertake.

Ashley O’Quinn
Ashley O’Quinn is an award-winning choreographer and dance instructor with over 20 years of experience teaching and training young dancers to achieve their full potential. Her high standards for herself and her faculty and her encouraging in-class persona teaches students tenacity, confidence, and teamwork along with technique. She values each child for who they are and has as her mission that all of the children participating in dance at Dance Ascension love who they are, while finding joy in the art of dance. Ashley is also committed to helping dancers interested in a career in dance have training and educational opportunities that help them prepare and build their resumes. She has partnerships with artists, organizations, other choreographers, and creative directors across the country and uses these connections to provide opportunities to students who want to pursue dance as a career. Students have experienced training opportunities in Broadway productions and dance in film and music videos within the commercial dance industry.
Ashley began her dance training at the age of 3. She danced competitively for 8 years and won numerous awards for solos and team performances. Highlights from her working in the dance industry as a dancer were performing in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade, performing as the Arabian and Snow in the Nutcracker, performing on ESPN with her dance team as the Top Ten National Finalists, and featured in the October 2003 Dance Spirit magazine as a scholarship recipient and top soloist. Ashley also spent time working in the TV and film industry as both an actor and dancer. She worked alongside well known actors such as Shirley McClaine as well as creators and directors such as Kevin Williamson, Mark Schwahn, and Michael Tollin.
As a teaching professional, Ashley has received numerous choreography awards and Critic’s Choice awards from events such as Revive Dance Convention, NYCDA, and Hollywood vibe to name a few. She has also worked nationally as a master class instructor at various studios and has set many dance pieces from solos to groups nationwide. Most recently, Ashley has created pathways for her student’s wishing to pursue dance professionally by cultivating professional opportunities for training opportunities, work, and representation both in front of the camera and behind. It is important for all of her students to find successful paths that go beyond the studio and enrich their lives.

Abigail Batchelor
Abigail started her dancing career at the young age of 4. Within the past 17 years, Abigail has trained in various styles of dance including ballet, tap, modern, contemporary, lyrical, pointe, jazz, jazz-funk, hip-hop, ballroom, pom and heels. While training under Ashley O’Quinn at Dance Ascension, Abigail has received numerous opportunities to work with individuals such as ZacK Everhart, Lauren Froderman, Aisha Olemba, and Geri Brown. Abigail has traveled to places such as New York City, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Orlando, and Atlanta training towards a professionally career, being featured in music videos, concept videos, auditioning for scholarships/professional roles, dancing backup for artists like Nicky Youre and assisting choreographers on professional sets with Liberate Artists Inc. Abigail has been working with Liberate for 3 years assisting and training to grow her professional career.
Abigail is currently studying Kinesiology, Pre-Physical Therapy at Campbell University, while researching to specialize in dance medicine. Abigail has been fortunate enough to intern over a certified dance movement therapist, Breanna Davis, in hopes of receiving insight to this field.
